Confucius Institute in New Brunswick Principals' Delegation Visits Hanban
On July 11, 2018, local time, the delegation of the Confucius Institute in New Brunswick, Canada, was led by the Deputy Minister of Education Department of New Brunswick, Mr. John McLaughlin, Chairman of Confucius Institute in New Brunswick, and Ms. Dawn Weatherbie, Executive Director of Confucius Institute in New Brunswick, and the Foreign Director of Confucius Institute in New Brunswick and Superintendent of Chinese Language Teaching in New Brunswick, Ms. Teng Jing. Also invited the Chairman of the Beijing China-Canada International School and the Chairman of Confucius Institute in New Brunswick, Dr. Peng Jianhua, to Hanban and Confucius Institute Headquarters. During the visit, they discussed the future development of the Confucius Institute with the leaders of the Hanban and representatives of relevant ministries.
When they walked into Hanban, they were greeted with a warm welcome to the delegation led by John McLaughlin, Deputy Minister of Education Department of New Brunswick, Canada. The delegation felt the most sincere welcome from Hanban.
The delegation then went to the conference room. The deputy director-general of the Confucius Institute Headquarters, the deputy director of the Hanban Office, and the representatives of the Hanban, met with the members of the delegation and had a friendly conversation. Director Jing Wei first extended a warm welcome to the Canadian delegation and talked about her return from the newly renovated Confucius Institute. The existing 5,000 students in Confucius Institute in New Brunswick are enough to prove that the New Brunswick Department of Education giving a big support. The project has always been strongly supported, and it has also seen the support of the Confucius Institute and the friendship between volunteers and the friendly accommodation family represented by the former Prime Minister of Canada. She said that these are the epitome of China-Canada friendship and cultural exchanges, which will play an important role in promoting the future education development of the two countries.
